Court Approved/Fee for Service

Sunrise Community Counseling Center offers a variety of counseling services contracted by the Los Angeles County Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) and receives Los Angeles County court referrals for drug treatment in lieu of incarceration.

  • In addition, Sunrise CCC is approved by the Los Angeles Probation Department for batterer intervention, providing treatment for perpetrators and support for victims of domestic violence.
  • Sunrise is also a referral agency for the Los Angeles County courts and Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) for parenting education and family counseling services.
  • Anger management classes and domestic violence classes meet the requirements of both the Los Angeles County Superior Court System, Los Angeles County Family Court System & the Los Angeles County Department of Probation, as well as other mandated diversion programs.

Listed below are the counseling services that Sunrise CCC offers, along with the length of time it takes to complete each program.

Domestic Violence Batterer's program

Weekly classes for offenders of domestic violence. This program will teach offending partners to develop empathy for their victims, identify and self-monitor negative thoughts, and to identify and interrupt the negative self-talk that often precedes incidences of violence, in order to prevent further abuse.

Domestic Violence Victim's program

Weekly support groups for victims of domestic violence. This program is designed to end domestic violence through psychological empowerment, learning about domestic violence dynamics, parenting, and healthy boundaries. 

Deferred Entry of Judgment (DEJ)/PC 1000

Weekly group classes. This is a program for those with a first-time drug offense or a first-time drug crime. Participation in this program helps avoid criminal prosecution and instead have a case deferred. If a case is deferred, a probationary period follows. Completing the probationary requirements may be accepted in lieu of a criminal sentence.


Parenting Classes

Weekly parenting classes. These classes are educational courses that teach parents general parenting skills and strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect. It highlights positive parent-children relationships. Class options: men, women and coed.

Anger Management

Weekly classes. Anger management is the process of learning to recognize signs that you're becoming angry and taking action to calm down and deal with the situation in a productive way.

Outpatient Drug-Free Treatment (ODF)

Weekly group classes. Outpatient Drug Free treatment services are designed to stabilize and rehabilitate persons with substance abuse diagnoses.


Sexual Abuse Awareness Program

Weekly classes. Sexual Abuse Awareness program educates the client about human sexuality, identify signs of sexual abuse and learn how to report and take legal action. The program focuses on preventing sexual abuse.

Individual Counseling

We offer individual sessions with an experienced counselor, in Spanish and English. Our expert staff will help you learn ways to manage stress, trauma and enhance the healing process. Telehealth via Skype available. Call for more information.

Depression Support Group

Learn how to manage depression in a supportive, group environment. The group is facilitated by our experienced mental health providers using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a coed group.
